EF Language: Building Conversion

EF Language is one of the world's premier language schools, with schools in over 40 locations.

When the school made the leap from sharing space in a building to renting it in its entirety, they turned to GIOTAN.

The building was converted from a dress factory into a modern school set in a brick and beam building.

EF Language's previous location was cramped, had very poor traffic flow and offered few amenities for students. GIOTAN recommended a generous use of glass in order to bring natural light into classrooms and also installed high-intensity discharge lighting to further brighten classrooms while boosting energy efficiency.

In addition to improving traffic flow, the new ground-floor lounge/lunchroom has become a favourite student hangout. In fact, EF Language has determined that the new school will serve as the new standard for the design of all future schools.
