When GWL was partway through the design process for 18 York Street, GIOTAN was brought onboard to contribute our expertise on building interiors. Our building floor plate studies allowed GWL to identify those aspects of the project that would prove to be most valuable to prospective tenants.
GWL also wanted us to identify any potential roadblocks in the design process early on, so that they could be corrected before a single shovel hit the dirt. GIOTAN uncovered a number of issues. For instance, we recommended that GWL move its service doors away from the elevator lobby so that tenants could create larger reception areas.
As a result of our contributions, the finished building should be able to compete better with neighbouring properties.
