The Patient Networks: Medical Clinic Build-Out

The Patient Networks is a full-service family practice and walk-in clinic located on the ground floor corner of a downtown Toronto building.

Dr. Boris So, owner of the Patient Networks, was after a high-impact design but fairly constrained by a tight budget. He hoped to avoid the look a standard doctor's office's waiting room; at the same time, the retail space he wanted to convert had to accommodate all the infrastructure essential to a contemporary medical facility.

For the waiting room, GIOTAN recommended the use of pre-finished wood flooring as an accent wall and on the front of the reception desk instead of using large sheets of wood, which would have required custom finishing and been much more costly.

We coupled this solution with hanging pendants and complementary signage, which has resulted in an inviting, warm and unconventional reception area.
