Irwin Tan: Vice President, Project Management

Irwin studied computer science at the University of Toronto, and has held a number of positions with GIOTAN since 1985.

Currently, Irwin heads up the technical aspects of the design business, including project management, providing technical consultation for building floorplate studies on behalf of landlords and developers, and is responsible for approving all of GIOTAN's working drawings. He holds a building code identification number from the Ontario Ministry of Housing and Municipal Affairs, which qualifies him to submit plans for building permit application.

Irwin is a detail guy. Part of what he likes best about his job is the fact that it lets him learn more about a wide variety of industries.

Irwin cherishes the time he spends pursuing woodworking and other hobbies with his son. He's also involved in a variety of non-profit initiatives: he's the chairman of Anime North and is actively involved with Polaris, an annual Toronto science fiction and fantasy conference.
